Write your name, press enter, and watch it being written by falling leaves.
nameTracer is a Flash movie created as a test of Flash 9 bitmap handling capabilities.
When you press enter, a black and white mask of your name is created, black areas needing to be filled. Random points in dark areas are randomly picked, and the mask is instantly stamped with a randomly rotated white leaf, and a leaf is created at the top of the animation, with various randomized parameters such as horizontal delta. This leaf is then animated, until it hits the grounds at the precise point chosen before; at this point, the leaf itself is stamped on a second bitmap, which is displayed behind all the leaves. The leaf can be safely removed, ensuring a perfect framerate.
